Campus Walk Safety
GoAlert is a travel safety and SOS app for Android by Kumawatpulse Technologies that shares live GPS alerts with chosen guardians. It is designed for students crossing large campuses at night — described here as a design intent, never a guarantee of safety.
How does GoAlert help on campus walks?
- Short check-in timer for the walk. Set a countdown for the route across campus; a missed check-in sends an automatic SOS with live GPS.
- Quiet Hours for the night. Schedule sleep windows so automatic alerts stay silent in the hostel while SOS remains one tap away.
- One-tap SOS. If anything feels wrong, guardians receive exact coordinates via Internet push notification.
- Low-battery SOS. At about 15% battery, guardians are warned before the phone can die on the way back.
What are the limits on campus?
Campus Wi-Fi dead spots, basement routes, and aggressive battery-saver modes can delay or block alerts, which need Internet on both sides. Keep battery-saver exceptions in mind and the phone charged. GoAlert is a supplementary tool — in a real emergency in India, call 112 (Police), 108 (Medical), or 1091 (Women Helpline).
