Safety Alerts for Elderly Parents
GoAlert is a travel safety and SOS app for Android by Kumawatpulse Technologies that shares live GPS alerts with chosen guardians. It is designed for families who want a simple check-in channel for ageing parents — described here as a design intent, never a guarantee of safety.
How does GoAlert help families with elderly parents?
- No account, simple setup. Install, add family members as guardians, and the Shield is one toggle — no logins or passwords for parents to remember.
- One-tap SOS. A single trigger shares live GPS coordinates with family via Internet push notification.
- Low-battery SOS. At about 15% battery, family is alerted before the phone can go silent.
- Safety check-in timer. Useful before a parent's clinic visit or market trip; a missed check-in sends an automatic SOS.
What are the limits for elderly users?
The phone must be charged, carried, and connected — nothing can be sent once it shuts down, and alerts need Internet on both sides. Set everything up together with the parent, with their full knowledge and consent. GoAlert is a supplementary tool — in a real emergency in India, call 112 (Police), 108 (Medical), or 1091 (Women Helpline).
