Solo Travel Safety App for India

GoAlert is a travel safety and SOS app for Android by Kumawatpulse Technologies that shares live GPS alerts with chosen guardians. Travelling alone across India — by highway, train connection, or unfamiliar city streets — means no one beside you notices when plans change. GoAlert fills that gap: it keeps chosen people updated on your journey and gives you a one-tap emergency channel, free and without any account. It is a supplementary tool, not a replacement for official help — Police 112, Medical 108, Women Helpline 1091.

Solo travel safety app for India: GoAlert journey monitoring with check-in timer and live GPS SOS

The solo traveller's problem GoAlert solves

When you travel with others, someone always knows where you are. Alone, that awareness disappears: a delayed bus, a wrong turn, a phone running out of charge — nobody back home knows unless you tell them, and in a real emergency you may not be able to. GoAlert restores that awareness passively. Activate the Shield at the start of the day and guardians can follow along; set a check-in timer for each leg, and if you miss it — because you can't reach your phone, not just because you forgot — an automatic SOS with your coordinates goes out.

For highway journeys, the impact detection adds another layer: a detected high-G impact starts a 15-second countdown, and if uncancelled, guardians are alerted even if the traveller is unable to act. The low-battery SOS at about 15% covers the other classic solo-travel failure — the phone dying mid-route with no one informed.

A practical setup for a solo trip

  1. Before leaving: install GoAlert free from Google Play (Android 8.0+, ~14 MB), add 2–3 guardians, and send one test alert.
  2. Each travel day: activate the Shield in the morning; share your rough route with guardians by message so the app's alerts have context.
  3. Each leg: set the check-in timer for the expected duration plus a buffer — a 3-hour bus ride gets a 3.5-hour timer.
  4. On arrival: check in, stand down the Shield, and charge the phone. Routine, repeatable, no vigilance fatigue.

What solo travellers rely on most

Check-in timer. The signature solo-travel feature — protection that works even when you can't touch your phone.

Impact detection. Highway backup with a cancel window, so false alarms from a dropped phone don't panic anyone.

Remote location request. Family can pull your live position via your connection code when messages go unanswered.

22 languages. Set up the app in Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, or 19 others — useful when travelling through regions where family members read different scripts.

Private by design. No accounts, no ads, no analytics in the app; alert relay via Firebase push only. See the Privacy Policy.

Honest limits for solo travel

Remote India has patchy signal. Alerts queue until connectivity returns — on some stretches that may be a long wait. GPS accuracy drops in ghats, tunnels, and dense cover. Carry a power bank, keep the phone charged, and never treat the app as a substitute for informing humans of your plans and for calling 112, 108, or 1091 in a real emergency. Common questions

How does the SOS button work?

When you trigger SOS, GoAlert sends your live GPS coordinates to your chosen guardians as an Internet push notification. Alerts need an active Internet connection to dispatch; GPS tracking itself runs on your device. GoAlert is a supplementary safety tool, not a replacement for calling 112, 108 or 1091 in India.

Does GoAlert work without internet?

Partly. GPS tracking and the safety timer run on your device without Internet, but SOS alerts, remote location requests and accident-detection notifications are sent as Internet push notifications, so they dispatch only when connectivity is available. An active connection is required to reach guardians.

What happens when my battery is low?

With Low Battery Alerts enabled, GoAlert automatically sends an SOS to your chosen guardians when your battery drops to about 15%, so they know your phone may go offline soon. Like all alerts, it needs Internet to dispatch, and GoAlert cannot function once the phone shuts down.
